The Ministry of Health has indicated that it contacted Ghanaian companies for the Supply of COVID-19 vaccines but none of the companies contacted could meet the demands.
The Ministry of Health came under attack from Ghanaians on social and traditional media for purchasing overpriced Sputnik V Vaccines from a private businessman in the United Arab Emirates.
The argument put forward was that the vaccines are been sold for $10 per vaccine but the Ministry was purchasing same vaccines for $19.
However, the Ministry in a statement has said that the $10 for the vaccine is ex-factory price and you only get it at that price when the purchase is from government to government.
The Ministry in its statement indicated that several Ghanaian companies which gave the Ministry an indication of having the capacity were engaged but so far no results have been recorded so far.
