Somizi Buyani Mhlongo Motaung is a South African media personality, actor, and choreographer born on 23rd December 1973 in Soweto which is known as the largest town in Johannesburg, his parents, were moviemakers as his father Ndaba Mhlongo was veteran actor and Mother also known as Mary Twala.
With the influence of his parents as they were all veteran South African actors, he became a common face in the entertainment industry at a young age and has since been one of the successful personalities in the entertainment fraternity. He had one sibling, who was stabbed in a tragic incident in the year 1985 and has since been the only child of his parents.
Career
Somizi’s started his career at the young age as he was 13 years and appeared in ‘Scavengers’ film in the year 1987 and gained his prominence in 1992 after he joined the cast of political cum musical movie dubbed, ‘Sarafina‘ which he played a role by the name of Fire and was nicknamed “Whacko”.
He has however featured in numerous television series with the one that was popular is “Tarzan: The Epic Adventure” and was shot in 1996. Somizi Mhlongo got one of the biggest appointments from “Idols South Africa“ on the 11th season of the popular reality show as a judge and also a lead judge of SABC1 “Dance Your Butt Off” reality show.

Personal Life And Controversies
Mhlongo had an entanglement with popular actress Palesa Madisakwane though he’s a bis£xual and at the time of his relationship with the actress he was also involved with a man whose name was made anonymous by him.
The actress, Madisakwane and Somizi Mohale in the course of their relationship had their first child on 19th February 1995 known as Bahumi Madisakwane and after they welcomed their child he tagged himself as gay which led to the split with Madisakwane.
After his relationship with the actress ended, he kept his subsequent relationship private until 2017 speculations surfaced that he was in a relationship with model cum entrepreneur Mohale Tebogo Motaung and later in 2018 they confirmed the speculations and went ahead to propose to Motaung when they went to Paris, France for vacation and got married in a traditional wedding on 28th September 2018, the white wedding also happened on 30th January 2020.
Somizi Mhlongo and Mohale Motaung’s relationship has however hit the rock as they’ve Identified their fate after Mohale leveled abuse allegations against him in conversation with a friend which was leaked on social media and as a result his some of his deals were terminated.
