Over the years many have given up on their dreams of becoming better people in future simply because they didn’t have money to take care of their dreams or even someone to sponsor them.
The story of UCC alumni Nathan Addo Larbi talks about his move from a poor home without sponsorship to now a first-class student with a side business that has affiliation to a UK based firm.
Nathan, just like the other youth in the country comes from a poor home and surviving was difficult for him but with the strong will to survive, he applied to study at the University of Cape Coast where he gained admission.
Through his hard work and that of his parents, he was able to enrol but that was when he was hit by a reality where he had to hustle just to be able to see himself through school.
According to him, he started selling bread on the streets and that meant he had to miss several lecturers just to make a decent living for himself and also to pay his fees.
He explained that he was mocked by some of his program mates who saw him hawk bread on the streets but that didn’t deter him from striving hard to achieve his dream.
Natan last Thursday was one of the many who graduated from UCC with first-class honours.
Nathan in level 400 established a maize trading company which is known as “ Sankofa Maize Connect Enterprise (SMC) “, and it’s recognized by the Register General Department.
Currently, SMC is in an equity partnership with Umoja Generation wealth which is based in the UK.
The former bread seller revealed that he wished people would take a cue from his life and not give up in life.
