The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said it is ready to send on loan a crack team of energy experts to help the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Nana Akufo-Addo to help solve the energy crisis the country is facing.
From fuel prices to power outages, Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo said the NPP has proven they lack the capacity to manage the issues hence will need the assistance of the brains the NDC has to successfully manage the crisis they have plunged the country in.
He however maintained that such an assistance from the NDC’s experienced team comes with a condition: the NPP must ask for for help and extend an invitation, “as party chairman I will sign off for it”, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo said.
According to him, John Dramani Mahama with his wide level of experience and patriotism should not have a problem assisting the country navigate the crisis of “NPP are humble enough to admit they cannot do it and need help”.
Names such as Oteng Agyei, Armah Kofi Buah, Kwame Awuah-Darko, Alex Mould, John Jinapor, Adam Mutawakilu, Moses Asaga are expected to be on the loan list to help solve the energy crisis the country is facing.
At a time the country is experiencing Dumsor, think tank Institute for Energy Security (IES) data showed fuel prices have risen more than 20% with about 28% of the full price being taxes imposed by government.
Reacting to ECG’s announcement of a timetable for Accra’s blackouts, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo who said he is a plant Engineer by training wondered why should outages in Kumasi are attributed to a repair at Pokuasi, saying it is deceptive and government must come clear.
