Burnley sack Sean Dyche – Citi Sports Online

Burnley have sacked Sean Dyche.

Dyche who took over the club in 2012, was the longest-serving manager in the division.  His Burnley side were known for their direct and physical style which resulted in a 7th placed finish in 2018.

Burnley currently sit 18th in the league and are four points behind 17th placed Everton with eight games to play.

Under-23s coach Mike Jackson has been given first-team duties for the match against West Ham with the club confirming they are looking for a replacement.

In a statement to supporters, Chairman Alan Pace was full of praise for the former Watford manager:

“Firstly, we would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Sean and his staff for their achievements at the Club over the last decade. During his time at Turf Moor, Sean has been a credit both on and off the pitch, respected by players, staff, supporters, and the wider football community.”

Burnley have also parted ways with assistant manager Ian Woan, first-team coach Steve Stone and goalkeeping coach Billy Mercer.
