Steve Harvey, a well-known African-American comedian, has made surprising admissions regarding his decision to leave Ghana in search of brighter pastures in America.

As he sees it, America is not what most young Africans believe it to be because individuals like him wish they could live in countries like Ghana, where they would be protected for the rest of their lives.

This revelation was delivered by the prominent talk show presenter in an interview that has gone viral on different social media sites, including Twitter and Facebook.

“America is not what most young Africans imagine it to be because individuals like him wish they could live in countries like Ghana, where they would be secure forever,” he said.

Steve went on to say that America “isn’t what people believe it to be.”

With regard to police shooting people after pulling them over, he said, “You will never hear in Ghana that police have shot someone after pulling them over.”

As a result, he emphasized that staying at home (in your nation) is more essential than looking forward to traveling abroad.

“It is not what you believe it to be. The police shooting someone after pulling them over is something you would never hear about in Ghana. We should return to our homes instead. It’s not the other way around, either “he said.

Meanwhile, a Ghanaian teacher who was earning GHC1,500 says she now takes $1,300 in Vietnam, and she doesn’t intend to return because “Ghana is expensive now”.

Mercy Agyei Ankomah disclosed this in an interview on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaame.

The woman, who is now an English teacher in Vietnam, said that her life has changed since she migrated to the Southeast Asian country in 2019.
