Sammy Gyamfi does not agree with the court’s decision to sentence Akaupem Poloo to a 90- day imprisonment and as a result calling on President Akufo-Addo to pardon her.
According to the NDC Communication Officer, the judgement was too harsh for a first-time offender like Akuapem Poloo who had shown remorse for her action.
In a social media post, Sammy Gyamfi said Akufo-Addo needs to step in to the case to either remit the jail term or pardon Akuapem Poloo.
The sentence given to @IamAkuapemPoloo is very harsh and high-handed. Given the fact that she is a first offender, pleaded guilty and showed remorse, non-custodial sentence would have been appropriate. Sad! I pray @NAkufoAddo remits her sentence or pardons her. #FreeAkuapemPoloo
