President Nana Akufo-Addo, on Monday, fifteenth February 2021, left Ghana to attend the seventh Session of the Bizarre Summit of the Heads of State of G5 Sahel.
President Akufo-Addo’s attendance is in his capability as Chairperson of the Authority of the Financial Group of West African States.
The Summit, which is being held in N’Djamena, capital of Chad, will deliberate on the progress being made in opposition to the continuing Islamist insurgency within the area.
President Akufo-Addo was accompanied by the Minister-designate for Overseas Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.
Others embrace the Minister-designate for Nationwide Safety, Albert Kan Dapaah, and officers from the Presidency and the Overseas Affairs ministry.
The President will return to Ghana afterward Monday, February 22, 2021.
In his absence, the Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Structure, act in his stead.
